New York Stock Exchange
To keep up with the consistently changing market environment, the New York Stock Exchange is undergoing renovations. All 11 of the brown traditional trading posts in the center of the trading floor are being replaced with new, wider versions. These have blue countertops, additional screens, and brighter lighting. To make the floor brighter, the wall of dark glass in the front of the building is replaced with windows bringing in natural light. The sleek, curved, translucent glass walls and new lighting recapture the marble walls and original windows which were previously obscured.
A small television set allows CNBC anchors to conduct interviews from the floor itself. In addition to the trading floor, the exchange also has updated meeting spaces that it rents out companies and charities. They include vaulted-ceiling dining rooms and a lounge with gilt-edged walls.
