Carlisle Paul, Field Representative, was honored by the Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation at their 23rd Annual Dinner Gala and Tribute on May 13, 2009. Mr. Paul was a recipient of the 2009 Joseph W. Stehn Community Builders Award. The evening honored him alongside community leaders such as Helen Marshall, President of the Borough of Queens.
The Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation’s purpose is to promote the revitalization of the Rockaway community’s economic base and neighborhoods and to assist its residents in securing an improved quality of life. Carlisle Paul, who began his career with the union when he was initiated into the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America in 1989, exemplifies dedication to serving and ensuring growth in his community. He participated in and directed a Contractor Development Program co-sponsored by the New York City Department of Housing, Preservation and Development and a Minority Roundtable Conference which has sought to provide opportunities and development resources to minority owned businesses. Mr. Paul is also the recipient of many community service awards from community organizations and elected officials.
Mr. Paul was appointed to the Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation as Vice President and is also a member of the Board of Directors. He continues his civic dedication in support of candidates and elected officials sympathetic to the support needed in all minority communities.
